IS YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM PROTECTING YOU THIS WINTER?
It’s that time of the year again when pesky colds and flu start spreading and our immune systems might need an extra hand in protecting us against these nasties to ensure we are feeling our best throughout the winter season. There are a number of steps I take year round to support my body's immune and detoxification systems, depending on what I personally need at any given time, but here are just a few of my staples that I find are an amazing support, especially throughout winter.
It’s no secret that Turmeric is a favourite of mine, we have a whole blog post on its wonderful benefits HERE Turmeric is anti-inflammatory and rich in antioxidants to support your body in preventing and overcoming infection. Simply make a tea from freshly chopped Turmeric or use Turmeric powder in your morning bulletproof or smoothie or soups and curries for an added immunity boost.
Ginger aids digestion, relieves nausea, is anti-inflammatory and great for the immune system. I love chopping fresh, organic ginger in boiling water for a morning boost in the winter.
Oil of Oregano can greatly support respiratory illness and is also anti-fungal and rich in antioxidants to support immunity. A few drops of this oil taken daily throughout the winter will do your immune system a world of good.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple Cider Vinegar is rich in enzymes and proteins that support immunity and deotixifcation in the body. I love having a dash of ACV in my water in the morning to boost my digestive system and support my immune system in winter – add in some cayenne pepper too for an additional immune boost!
Detoxification is key to supporting healthy immune function and supporting our bodies to rid itself of toxins so that it can focus on working its absolute best! I love boosting my daily greens intake all year round but especially in winter to help this process.

Getting enough shut-eye is hugely important in ensuring our bodies have time to heal, fight and protect and that our immune systems are working at their absolute best. So make sure you’re getting the right amount of sleep for your body and that you’re taking time to move your body, meditate and slow down so your adrenals and immune system can keep up with you.
