As cliche as it sounds, you become most like those you surround yourself by. This is why I’m always teaming up with other women who are fit, healthy, strong, confident and who are kicking ass in their respective fields. Georgia Van Tiel and Carla Macmillan are no exception to the rule. Both fitness experts, Georgia is an exercise scientist and qualified personal trainer while Carla has a background in nutrition, herbal medicine and Yoga. Here’s what they had to say about living a healthy and active life.
A little about yourselves?
G: I have worked in the health and fitness industry for over 15 years in Sydney, London and New York promoting health and wellness. As a qualified exercise scientist, I design and implement sustainable fitness, nutrition and wellness programs for individuals, schools, communities, not-for-profit organisations and corporates to help them to attain lifestyle balance. Carla and I have been friends for 10 years and began to work on the Bodypass concept in 2013.
C: I am a healthy food lover with a passion for wellness and delicious, nutritious cooking. I am a yoga teacher and have dedicated my life to health and wellness through my holistic approach to food, fitness and lifestyle. Entrenched in dance since I was young, I discovered yoga 12 years ago, and so was borne my love of holistic wellness. I joined forces with my long-time friend and fellow fitness expert, Georgia van Tiel, to bring the Bodypass idea to life.

When do you feel most beautiful and why?
C: When I'm in my sarong after a swim in the ocean and settling down in my kitchen to get my cool on. My hair is curly so any ocean sea salt is always my best friend. The beachier the better!
G: Every time I finish an exercise class or get out of the ocean. I don't wear make up (bar some eyebrow pencil which is uber important, got to have strong brow game!) so for me I feel most beautiful when I'm fresh out of the ocean or got a good sweat going on. Every time I'm with my husband, he is the best!
In what ways can a variety of exercise classes help us to feel beautiful from the inside out?
I think too often we are made to feel like we should do certain types of exercise or told that one way is better than another. If the 1000 classes that we have done over the past year have taught us anything, it is to also what you love, what nourishes you and what makes you feel good. Mix things up, don't be afraid to try new classes, drag a friend along and don't get too comfortable.
Your favourite Beauty Foods?
C: tumeric- anti inflammatory, anti bacterial, great for gut health which is the source of all good health.
G: green juice, sounds cliche but when you're busy it's the easiest and best way to get a good chunk of your daily veg intake in.
What are your favourite natural beauty products?
C: Coconut everything! Hair, skin, insides, taste...I love it!
G: Black Chicken Axilla Paste deodorant ....seriously this is the bomb diggidy!!
